- 1). Plug the power cord firmly into the electrical outlet if the vacuum will not turn on. If the plug is loose, the vacuum cannot draw power.
- 2). Unplug the vacuum for 30 minutes if it turns off while in use. The U6445-900 has a thermal protection device that shuts down the motor if it starts to overheat. The thermal protector resets after about 30 minutes.
- 3). Move the floor type control switch to the "Carpet" position if the agitator brushes do not rotate while vacuuming carpet. The brushes will not be able to move if the setting is turned to the bare floor position.
- 4). Replace the filter bag if the U6445-900 vacuum loses suction or will not pick up debris. A full filter bag prevents the vacuum from operating properly.
- 5). Move the carpet height control switch to a higher position if the vacuum is difficult to push. If the setting is too low for the carpet being cleaned, the brushes press against the floor preventing the vacuum from moving easily.
- 6). Slide the "Self-Propel" button to the "ON" position if the cleaner does not self-propel.
