- 1). Visit Office.microsoft.com and find the "Templates" tab at the top of the web page. Find the "Browse Templates" heading in the center of the next page. Click the "More Categories" option at the end of the category list. Scroll down through the alphabetical list, find the "Tags" category and click on it.
- 2). Look through the tags that are available for download. Find holiday tags, winter tags, tags suitable for general gift giving and tags suitable for birthday gifts. Click on the image of a tag or the name of a tag to select it. Note the software that is required for the tag before you download it to make sure that you have a compatible version of the Microsoft software to enable you to print the gift tags.
- 3). Click the "Download" button to download the selected gift tag. Microsoft's website will now verify that you are using a genuine version of its software. Proceed through the verification process by answering the questions. The download will automatically begin after your software is verified.
- 4). Choose the download location on your computer and wait while the gift tags download. The software required for editing the gift tags will automatically open after the tags are finished downloading.
- 5). Click on any fields within the gift tag to add personal names or other desired text. Delete any existing text that you do not want on the gift tags. Edit the gift tags as desired, then save the new gift tags on your hard drive by naming the file and saving.
- 6). Print out the gift tags with a color printer connected to your computer. Alternatively, save the file to a flash drive and have the file printed professionally.
- 1). Open your graphics program and create a raster layer that is 800 pixels by 600 pixels. Fill in the background color with the desired color.
- 2). Browse through the selection of preset shapes installed in your program. Most graphics programs have a variety of different shapes for creating various graphic projects. If your graphics program does not have special preset shapes, simply use a rectangle shape. Select the shape you want to use.
- 3). Select the color you desire to draw the preset shape with, and use your mouse to draw the selected preset shape onto your raster layer. Once you have one shape drawn the way you like, duplicate the shape and create as many more as will fit onto your layer. Line them up for easy cutting after printing.
- 4). Enter the text to personalize your tags, adding the "To," "From" and the names of the gift recipient and gift giver.
