Miscarriage

• Women with fibroids have a slightly higher chance of miscarriage than normal.
  
  

Fetal Position

• Fibroids can affect the position of the fetus. Depending on the position of the fetus, a cesarean section may be necessary.
  
  

Pain

• Fibroids can sometimes cause pain in pregnancy. This can be treated with common over-the-counter pain relievers.
  
  

Placental Abruption

• Rarely, fibroids can cause the placenta to detach from the uterus prematurely. In severe cases this can be life threatening.
  
  

Treatment

• If a women has multiple miscarriages because of fibroids, they can be surgically removed.
