How To Adjust a GE Icemaker That Stopped Making Ice Cubes

Instructions

1

Slide the power switch next to the ice maker to the "On" position. If the switch is in the "Off" position, the ice maker will not operate.
2

Is the water supply line hooked to the refrigerator? The water supply line should be inserted into the water inlet at the bottom of the rear of the refrigerator. The nut around the valve also should be tight so that the valve doesn't leak. If the line is not tight, tighten the nut until it is as tight as possible.
3

Wait 24 hours after plugging in the refrigerator before attempting to get ice from the freezer. A freezer that is too warm won't produce ice. According to GE, it should take about 24 hours for the freezer to reach the proper temperature to be able to dispense ice.
4

The lever in the ice bucket should be in the "Down" position. A lever that is in the "Up" position pauses the ice maker and prevents it from working again until some ice is removed from the bucket. Press down on the lever to get it into position when there is no ice in the bucket.
5

Turn off the ice maker if the green power light on the ice maker blinks. Use your hand to remove ice stuck in the chute. Turn the ice maker switch back to the "On" position.
