Stop the Process

• 1). Click "Start."
  
  
• 2). Type "taskmgr" in the "Start Search" box. Press "Enter" to open the "Task Manager."
  
  
• 3). Click "Processes." Click "rtvscan.exe" if it is under the list of processes, and then click "End Process." Exit the Task Manager.
  
  

Remove the File

• 1). Click "Start" followed by "Computer."
  
  
• 2). Navigate to the following folder path:
  
  c:\program files\symantec_client_security\symantec antivirus\
  
  
• 3). Right-click "rtvscan.exe," and then click "Delete."
