For Human Use

• 1). Cleanse the affected area thoroughly with mild soap and water.
  
  
• 2). Dry area gently but thoroughly.
  
  
• 3). Apply ointment to affected area.
  
  
• 4). Cover area with a sterilized gauze bandage, if desired. Icthammol ointment is black and may stain fabrics.
  
  
• 5). Repeat steps 1 through 4 one to two times daily or as directed by a physician.
  
  

For Veterinary Use

• 1). Cleanse and dry area gently.
  
  
• 2). Apply ointment to affected area.
  
  
• 3). Cover area with a loose gauze bandage.
  
  
• 4). Repeat steps 1 through 3 one to two times daily or as directed by a veterinarian.
