Pre-Order
Eminem is the bestselling album artist of the past decade. Out of six studio albums and three compilations, six of them hit #1 on the album chart. All except for his first have been certified platinum and beyond. In the area of singles, he has 12 top 10 hits to his credit including three #1. Eminem is also the recipient of 11 Grammy Awards. Recovery will be his seventh studio album.
Change from 'Relapse 2'
In March 2009 when Interscope Records announced the upcoming May release of Eminem's album Relapse, the label also indicated a Relapse 2 would follow late in the year. Following a number of delays Eminem announced in April 2010 that there was no Relapse 2. Instead an album named Recovery was planned in its place. Eminem stated, "I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year. But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title."

The first single from the Recovery project is "Not Afraid." It was released April 29, 2010 and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Not Afraid" was only the second single by a rap artist and the 16th single overall to accomplish this feat. The song has an uplifting, inspirational theme. "Not Afraid" sold 380,000 digital copies in its first week of release. This is the fourth highest first week digital sales ever. It has since hit the top 10 across Europe and #1 in Canada.
Collaborations With Pop Artists
Recovery includes expected collaborations with long-term mentor Dr. Dre. However, the appearances of pop artists Pink and Rihanna are less expected. Pink appears on the song "Won't Back Down" and Rihanna on "Love the Way You Lie." Rapper Lil Wayne makes a guest appearance on the song "No Love."
