One of Llanview’s most popular vixens will soon be making her comeback to One Life to Live. Actress Tonja Walker will once again reprise her role of Alex Olanov Hesser Buchanan. No word on what her storyline is said to be centered around, but perhaps it will involve David Vickers Buchanan and the Buchanan brothers. For those fans who were not watching the show during the late 1980's, early 90's and even within the last few years, here's a brief recap on Alex Olanov, a beautiful, yet very misunderstood woman.

Fans were first introduced to Alex Olanov back in 1990, when she came on the scene as a female agent for the Federal Anticrime Bureau (FAB). Bo Buchanan was working closely with Alex in his attempts to locate his missing wife Sarah. It was Alex who discovered Sarah was being held hostage by her own agency, which had made a deal with mob boss Carlo Hesser. After finding out Sarah's plane had tragically went down, Bo starting spending more time with Alex, and she began her quest to gain his love. However, Alex's plans were not going off as planned when she faced fierce competition from Cassie Callison. Bo and Cassie soon fell in love and were set to be married, which drove Alex completely over the edge.

While vacationing at the scenic Loon Lake, Bo and Cassie were totally unaware Alex had followed them there. Alex soon made her move and kidnapped Cassie away from Bo. Alex then forced Cassie into a boat on the lake and tried to drown her, but luckily Bo came to Cassie's rescue just in time.

Alex, who was now considered totally insane, was shipped off to the Mountain View sanitarium. But Alex's destruction of Bo and Cassie's life was far from over when she discovered that Bo's first wife Sarah was still alive. Just shortly after Bo and Cassie were married, Alex arranged for Sarah to make her appearance back into Bo's life, and eventually caused the destruction of his marriage to Cassie. Early in 1992, Alex surprised everyone when she returned to Llanview as the new wife of mob boss Carlo Hesser.

After Carlo's death, Alex then became head of her husband's empire. Alex eventually re-married, becoming the eighth wife of Asa Buchanan. Their wedding was one of Llanview's most memorable and elaborate weddings with their outlandish Cleopatra-themed event. Alex's marriage to Asa eventually ended when her ex-husband Carlo "came back to life".

Alex appeared once again in 2001 during the storyline of Asa’s “death” and was named in his Last Will and Testament. Thinking she was going to get lots of money she was furious after finding out that Asa had only left her a bag of stripper clothing. After flying to St. Blaize Island, Alex soon discovered that Asa was alive and kicking and decided to blackmail him into marrying her. However, Asa, being the man he was, tricked her into marrying a janitor instead with the name Jeb Stuart (the fake name Asa had been using at that time). Eventually Bo and Hank tracked down both Asa and Alex and they were brought back to Llanview.

When Asa Buchanan died for real back in August of 2007, Alex returned once again to pay her respects. After overhearing a confession from Nigel to Max Holden that David Vickers was Asa’s illegitimate son she soon went on a quest to find David. Alex managed to persuade David into marrying her and brought him to Texas at the reading of Asa’s will in order to collect his fortune. However in his attempt to protect the family, Nigel turned over his own inheritance (St. Blaize Island) to Alex in exchange for her silence. Alex had her marriage to David annulled immediately and reluctantly Nigel conspired with Jared Banks to pass him off as Asa’s real son, which was eventually discovered as untrue.

In January 2009, Alex showed up again after Dorian fled to St. Blaize to avoid being arrested for drugging Charlie. Dorian was unaware that Alex owned the island and after meeting with her she learned the truth about David being Asa’s real son. Dorian soon left the island to locate David, leaving Alex in peace to enjoy her island life. Of course, things did change for David and his true paternity after Bo and Rex took a trip back in time. Due to the events that happen, Bo Buchanan became the father of David. In his quest to protect the family fortune, Clint recently had David put into jail, leaving Bo and many others in Llanview wondering what really happen to him. So now the question is will Alex be the one to save David from his terrible misfortune brought on by Clint and bring him back to Llanview? It has been a little over two years since we last saw Alex enjoying the sweet life on her own little island. Will Alex seek revenge on the Buchanan’s, or does she have something else up her sleeve? It will no doubt be interesting to see what trouble lies ahead when Alex returns to the scene.
