What Are the Main Causes For Ringing Ears?

If you have a high pitched buzzing or ringing noise in your ears you might have tinnitus.
It may just be happening intermittently or you may have noticed that it happens more frequently.
Whatever the case may be it makes sense to see your doctor who may refer you to an ear, nose and throat specialist if the problem is really bad.
In the meantime however, this article will cover the main ringing ear causes.
The most common ringing ears cause is ear damage.
This is generally caused by over exposure to loud noise or it could even by the result of a head injury.
In both cases the mechanism that is the middle ear, notably the cochlea is damaged in some way.
It is believed that the hairs in the cochlea are worn down or bent.
These hairs sense sound vibrations and send electrical signals to the brain via the nervous system that are later translated into sounds.
When they become worn or bent the sounds that are sent to the brain are distorted, hence the high pitched noises.
It also explains why the noises may vary from one person to the next as each person will have different types of damage.
Other causes include problems with the sinuses, stress and even the type of diet and drugs that you may be taking.
The sinuses can get congested or blocked due to allergies, types of foods eaten that cause excess mucus or even some drugs that a person may be taking.
In some cases this can cause tinnitus symptoms but they will recede when the sinuses are cleared up.
Stress, particularly chronic stress, is thought to bring on tinnitus symptoms.
Stress will affect many parts of the body if left untreated as it alters the running of the body.
Stress or the body's reaction to real or perceived stress will change the way the nervous system runs, it will alter the circulatory system, cardiovascular and immune systems.
Over time this will manifest all sorts of problems that  are attributable to too much stress in a persons life.
Drugs and poor eating choices can affect the body in many ways too.
The example above of how some drugs and food will clog up the sinuses is one example of how these substances may be  ringing ear causes.
