- Plant spaghetti squash seeds after the last frost in the spring. Your squash should be ready about 90 days later, depending on the variety.
- Pick the squash before the first frost of the new winter. For most parts of the United States, this means harvesting in October or November.
- Spaghetti squash is ready to be picked when the shell turns a deep yellow or orange color and the tendrils from the vine have browned and dried. The rind will be hard enough to make marking it with your fingernail difficult. Wipe squash with a mild bleach solution and store in a cool, dry place for up to a month.
