Costume Crafts

• Create harp seal crafts to use in a performance or for imaginative play. Cut eye holes in a white paper plate. Add an oval shaped black nose, whiskers and a mouth. Add an elastic string to hold the mask in place. Wear a white sweat outfit to complete the outfit.
  
  Another way to create a harp seal mask is to cut eye holes in a white paper grocery bag. You can also use a brown bag and just paint the bag white before adding the details. Draw an oval nose and glue an oval piece of black felt or three pom poms to create the nose. Add facial details to the mask.
  
  

Puppet Crafts

• Make harp seal puppets for imaginative play or to put on a performance. Use a white paper lunch bag to create a puppet. Draw a mouth, whiskers and an oval nose onto the bag. Add googly eyes to the seal's face to complete the puppet.
  
  Make a finger puppet by cutting off the finger of a white knit winter glove. Add thread whiskers and bead eyes. Use an oval-shaped piece of black felt to create the nose. Put the seal on a finger and put on a performance.
  
  

Stuffed Crafts

• Make cuddly harp seal stuffed toys for cuddling or playing. Create a harp seal doll for fun play. Cut two pieces of white felt in the shape of a harp seal. Put the furry sides together and sew the edges, leaving a small opening. Turn the seal right-side out and stuff it with cotton batting. Sew the edge closed. Hot glue googly eyes or sew black buttons for eyes. Cut a black oval nose and sew it in place along with a mouth and whiskers. Don't give the stuffed toy to a young child, as it could pose a choking hazard.
  
  Use the same method with white craft fur to create a cuddly stuffed harp seal. The craft can be used as a stuffed doll or as a pillow.
  
  

Other Harp Seal Crafts

• Use a toilet paper roll to create a harp seal. Paint the roll white and add eyes, nose, whiskers and a mouth. Glue or tape a circle to the bottom to cover the hole. Fill it with a sandwich bag with small fish crackers or candies to give as a treat.
  
  Create a harp seal T-shirt. Use a white T-shirt for the design. Use black fabric paint to draw eyes, a nose, mouth and whiskers to the front of the shirt.
