How to Cover a Box for Gift Giving

    • 1). Unroll the wrapping paper and place the box upside down. Loosely wrap the paper around the box before cutting to ensure complete coverage. Make a straight cut with the scissors.

    • 2). Place the box in the center of the wrapping paper piece you just cut. Ensure that there is enough paper to cover the ends of the box. Cut away excess paper if necessary.

    • 3). Hold one end of the paper taut against the bottom of the box. Secure it in place with tape.

    • 4). Pull the other end of the paper to cover the end you just secured. The seams of the wrapping paper should be on the bottom of the box, so if the paper is a bit too long, fold it to make a straight crease before taping.

    • 5). Turn the box so one open end is visible. Push the sides of the wrapping paper inward so they are flush with the side of the box. Crease the edges to create triangular top and bottom flaps.

    • 6). Fold the top flap down against the side of the box, creasing the paper along the edge. Smooth the paper so it is flat against the box's side before taping it in place. Fold the bottom flap against the box the same way, using tape to hold it in place. Repeat this process for the other side of the box.

    • 7). Flip the box over and attach a decorative bow to the top of the box.
