The program is 65 hours long and teaches students about subjects such as human anatomy, medical terminology and understanding EKG interpretations. As of 2010, there are only day classes offered, which run from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, typically Monday through Friday (during some weeks there is no class on Friday).     The Medical Institute of Kentucky

    • The Medical Institute of Kentucky, in Lexington, offers an EKG program that covers human anatomy and physiology, medical ethics, medical terminology and performing EKGs. Along with performing EKGs, students are taught how to perform holter monitorings that analyze a patient over a 24-hour period during normal activity in order to diagnose any heart problems.     • Daymar College is located in Louisville, Kentucky, about a half hour drive from Lexington. Daymar offers a cardiographic technician training, or EKG, program. The program prepares students to become a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT). Daymar College offers students an affordable and flexible college education. Students interested in the EKG program need to have a high school diploma or GED, an interview with an admissions representative and must complete an admission evaluation. Financial assistance is available to students who qualify.
