How to Remove the Blade Guard Pin From a Craftsman Table Saw

    • 1). Switch the saw off and unplug the saw. Set the blade to the maximum height and the tilt to zero degrees on the bevel side and lock the blade bevel lock knob. Lift the blade guard arm up.

    • 2). Loosen the bolt that's attached to the splitter until you can loosen the splitter bracket assembly. Remove the blade guard, splitter and bracket assembly from the rear of the table saw. Unthread the bolt from the internally threaded pivot rod (pin) until it's clear.

    • 3). Remove the bolt and washer assembly from the splitter bracket. Separate the spring washer, flat washer and external tooth lock washer from the blade guard mounting bolt.
