If you truly want to lose weight you know that you will have to change your lifestyle. This is not an easy task and as such it needs careful planning and monitoring of your success. Whatever type of diet you choose to go with you will need to implement a few planning techniques that will ensure that your diet is a success.
The first thing to do is to go for a realistic result. If you set a goal of loosing 5 pounds in a month you can achieve that without much effort and then go for the second stage of your diet where you aim for 3 more pounds. But if you set an unrealistic goal of losing 15 pounds in a month you probably won't be able to do that and it will ruin your confidence, then again, you will have to revert back to basics, if you have the motivation to start again.
Divide your weight loss plan into two parts, your short term and your long term weight loss goals. Short term goals should be like mentioned above, monthly basis, something to keep you occupied for the time being, while the ultimate goal or the long term goal should be how much weight or how do you want to end up looking at the end.
One thing you have to get ready for is the possibility of failure or setback, so be prepared for that and deal with it the proper way. In some cases you might even have to reassess your goals, as the ones you made at first may seem to be too easy, or too hard or even impossible. Again, during your weight loss program you may have to go back to the beginning, it all depends on how realistic your weight loss goals were to begin with
