- 1). Visit the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade website. From here, navigate to the "Want to Be in the Parade?" page from the "Parade Information" selection and download the appropriate form for your group. Marching bands and performance groups have separate application forms with different requirements and requests.
- 2). Print the form in its entirety and complete it. Fill in every detail asked of you, because unfinished forms will not be accepted.
- 3). Check any compulsory additional requirements mentioned on the application form. A color photograph of your group in costume and a high-quality DVD recording of your group's performance are always requested. Other materials are classed as optional but may offer more information about your group and strengthen your application.
- 4). Send your application to the address printed on the application form comfortably ahead of the deadline; this is usually in early April, but is explicitly stated on the form. Late applications will not be accepted.
- 5). Wait for a response. If your application is successful, you will receive further instructions from Macy's on when and where your audition will take place.
