- Attaining the MCITP certification in CRM 3.0 has several benefits. According to Microsoft, the credential's main benefit is that it "helps validate your technical skills and ability to implement Microsoft Dynamics CRM." This of course gives you an advantage over people who have not received certification in CRM 3.0. The certifications are also beneficial because they grant you access to resources including the large network that Microsoft offers along with the credentials.
- Outside of taking and passing the series of examinations that is needed for the respective credentials, there are not many other requirements to attain the MCITP in CRM 3.0. According to Microsoft, there is no training requirement, though training may not hurt. You should, however, have between two and three years of experience as an information technology professional or developer. This experience will help you pass the certification examinations; without it, you may not be able to pass them.
- To receive any of the certifications, you must take between three and four tests. The Applications credential requires you to take the fewest exam; you must take and pass one required exam and two elective exams. For the Developer credential, you must take and pass two required exams and two elective exams, while for the Installation and Configuration credential, you'll need to take and pass one required exam and three elective exams.
- The best way to prepare for the certification exams is by getting the highly recommended experience in the field. It is also the most cost-effective way to make sure that you know the material. To be helpful, Microsoft provides guidelines for how to prepare for each examination. These guides provide an outline of the material you may see on the test and practice problems that you can use in your studying.
