How to Feed & Care for a 3-Month-Old Puppy

    • 1). Feed the puppy 1 cup of dry puppy food in the morning when it first wakes up. If you have to leave for work, simply leave the food out if the puppy has not eaten all of it.

    • 2). Feed the puppy an additional 1 cup of food approximately half way through the day. If you cannot be home to do this, purchase a food bowl with a timer that will automatically dispense the food.

    • 3). Feed the puppy another 1 cup of food at night when you get home from work.

    • 4). Provide fresh water for the puppy on a daily basis and refill the bowl throughout the day if necessary. Puppies tend to drink more than adult dogs because they are growing faster.

    • 5). Take the puppy to a veterinarian for the proper vaccinations. At 3 months they should receive the second of their booster shots which protects them against distemper, hepatitis, canine parvovirus and rabies.
