- 1). Place the fabric facedown on a flat surface so it lies completely flat. Center the cushion facedown on the fabric.
- 2). Fold the fabric back over the cushion cover so a small portion lies smoothly against the curve and staple into place on the cushion back, using the staple gun.
- 3). Grasp the fabric just to the right of the secured section between your thumb and index finger and pull it over the cushion back. Slide your thumb slightly down your index finger, pulling the fabric into a small pleat.
- 4). Press the fabric against the cushion back so the pleat lies flat and hold in place with your index finger. Position the staple gun against the cushion back above your finger so the right side of the staple outlet is centered on the pleat. Squeeze the trigger to insert the staple.
- 5). Continue creating tiny pleats in the fabric and stapling in place, working clockwise around the cushion cover. Keep pleats small enough in relation to the size of the cushion cover, so folds in the fabric don't extend over the lip of the cover on to the front side of the cushion.
