- 1). Increase or decrease the contrast and resolution on your screen; by changing the appearance of the screen, you may lessen the effects of glare on the screen.
- 2). Alter the position of your television. By relocating your TV or simply angling it differently, you may decrease the glare on the plastic screen protector. Have someone sit and watch the television as you move it around and try different locations until you find one that shows less of a glare. The television should be unplugged as you move it to avoid damaging the cord or accidentally electrocuting yourself or someone else.
- 3). Hang blinds, drapes or curtains over the windows and turn off any artificial lights that reflect in the screen of your television. By darkening the room, you will reduce the glare on your screen. The blinds and curtains should be thick enough to block all or almost all sunlight.
- 4). Tape dark colored paper, cloth or other materials over your windows if you have no access to curtains. Also, you can purchase an additional screen filter from a local retailer and install it according to the screen filter directions that come along with the product. Plastic screen coating products may also help and can also be found at some retail stores.
