The Moneydance personal finance software has a built in feature that allows customers to easily make a budget and track your spending.
Within fifteen minutes you should be able to set up your first budget.
Once you have installed the program on your computer you'll need to find the "tools" button along the top tool bar.
When you click on "tools" a drop down list of options appears.
Included in this list is the phrase "budget manager".
Alternatively you can access the budget manager by clicking on Control+Shift+B.
If this is your first time to create a budget then you'll need to click on the "new" button.
After clicking on "new" a page will automatically appear.
This is the page where you enter your budget information and the amounts you wish to spend per category.
Beside the box "budget name" simply enter a title for the Budget.
The title should be one you are easily able to recognize when opening your budget in the future.
Enter a start date and an end date.
At the bottom left of the screen you'll see a "+" and a "-".
When you click on the "+" you'll be able to enter a line item on your budget.
So, for example, if you wanted to spend $100 each month on fuel for your vehicle you would select the category "automotive" and the sub-category "fuel".
Under the amount section enter $100.
For interval you would want to set it at monthly.
Now you just need to enter the start and end date.
Continue entering information until your have the entire budget set and then click on OK.
You've just finished up setting up your first budget on Moneydance.
