- 1). Place the ball on the ground and move five to ten steps away from it. If you plan to kick the ball with your right foot, line up behind and slightly to the left of the ball. If you plan to kick it with your left, line up behind and slightly to the right of the ball.
- 2). Begin moving towards the ball, gradually gathering speed as you approach it. Be careful not to run towards the ball too quickly, as too much speed can cause you to improperly strike the ball.
- 3). Plant your non-kicking foot into the ground when you are about two steps away from the ball. Pull your kicking foot back as far as you can and prepare to strike the ball.
- 4). Using your momentum, swing your kicking foot forward like a pendulum and strike the ball ON ITS UNDERSIDE. Use the inside of your foot (the side your big toe is on) to kick upwards from underneath the ball.
