On the Starz dark comedy Gravity, Ving Rhames plays Dogg McFee, the leader of the support group for survivors of suicide attempts. It's been many years since the wheelchair-bound former pro baseball player tried to kill himself, but he still struggles with dark feelings, and takes medication to keep himself balanced. He feels a strong obligation to the members of the support group, and considers it a personal failure when one member relapses and successfully commits suicide.

Dogg can be harsh and demanding, but he does it because he knows how important it is.
