- The Camano Island State Park and the Cama Beach State Park each have about a mile of saltwater shoreline. They are both open for year-round saltwater fishing.
- Since it is tucked between Whitby Island and Washington's mainland, Camano offers protected spots for shore fishing in the Saratoga Passage to the west, Skagit Bay to the north and Port Susan Bay to the east.

According to Washington State's "2010/2011 Sportfishing Rules Pamphlet," Camano Island waters are in Regions 8-1 and 8-2, which includes Deception Pass, Hope Island, Skagit Bay, Port Susan and Port Gardner. The rules require barbless hooks for salmon and sturgeon. Rockfish, Pacific cod, pollock, hake, wolf eel and sixgill shark are off-limits all year. Make sure to check the specific regulations for the region you're fishing in before starting out.
