- 1). Choose the size of flake you want for your application. Large flakes are less subtle than small flakes, so this is a matter of personal preference.
- 2). Mix in the glitter with the gel coat using 10 to 20 parts by weight of the glitter to 100 parts by weight gel coat. Mix in any container large enough to accommodate stirring.
- 3). Stir well to evenly distribute the glitter throughout the gel coat and to avoid clumps that may clog your paint gun.
- 4). Fill the paint gun with the glitter/gel coat mixture.
- 5). Apply the mixture as you would apply the gel coat alone, carefully following the manufacturer's guidelines for ambient temperature, drying times and coats. Use long sweeping strokes that overlap one another for complete coverage.
