How Asthma Is Related To Your Stress

Is your asthma condition causing you increased stress? Many people who suffer from frequent asthma attacks also suffer from a high level of stress over their health condition.
Even when they are not having an asthma attack, it is possible that the fear is playing in the back of their minds all the time, worrying when the next one will happen and if the intensity of it will be bad and life-threatening.

Many long term asthmatic people have given up hope of ever recovering, as according to medical science, there is no "cure" for asthma.
Medical drugs only treats the symptoms of asthma.
However, this prolonged stress over your own health can worsen your health condition.
Stress is many a times, known as a silent killer.
Prolonged acute stress can shut down the immune system of your body, as well as the normal functions of your vital organs, such as your liver and your kidneys.
This will complicate matters, when added to the asthma and breathing problems.
Stress is very damaging to our bodies, both mentally and physically.
One technique of stress management, is that you must be able to mentally define the source of your stress, such as, the controllable and uncontrollable outcome.
You must focus on the controllable actions, and be able to accept the uncontrollable results, whatever they may be, knowing that you have done your best within your capabilities.
If you are experiencing work related asthma that is due to stress at your workplace, you must take steps to deal with it.
Have a discussion with your boss about your work load and responsibilities.
Are you having too much on your plate? Can you delegate some tasks to other colleagues? Can you eliminate some unnecessary work processes? Work out a plan that supports you in your workplace.
It is very important to your health that you begin to manage your stress.
Although it may take mental and conscious effort to do so in the beginning, eventually, you will find that you are able to take better control of your mind, and of your life.
Regular exercise and a good eating diet will help to cleanse your system and balance your hormones, so that you are able to feel lighter and have a clear mind.
Sometimes, stress could be due to an imbalance in the hormones of your body, causing acute fatigue and lethargy.
