  Covington is a small city located near New Orleans in St. Tammany Parish (where it is the parish seat) in southeastern Louisiana. The city is located on the banks of the Tchefuncte River, which gives residents plenty of opportunities to participate in recreational activities such as swimming and fishing. • Located in the nearby town of Slidell, this theater provides all the creature comforts that are typical of a large movie theater: high-back seats that have rocking ability, wall-to-wall screens, digital surround sound, and the ability to show 3D films. Birthday packages for children are also available for $16.25 per person, as of June 2010, and they include a movie ticket, a child’s combo snack pack (popcorn, a drink and candy), six game tokens and a surprise for the birthday girl or boy. There is a game room available in the theater as well. Private rental of the movie theater is also available if you want to host a movie night for your company or friends. • In nearby Hammond, this movie theater complex has 10 different movie screens and has films playing for all age ranges and tastes. Comfortable stadium seating, a traditional concession stand and 3D movie capability are all available to provide guests with an enjoyable entertainment experience. As of 2010, this theater has a promotion called Summer MovieCamp--during the summertime a family film costs only $1 on Tuesday mornings, and all the proceeds go to charity.
