- 1). Plan your track layout. This can be anywhere you'd like in your yard, even around flower beds or vegetable gardens.
- 2). Dig up the soil 1 to 3 inches deep for the track and place bricks on top of the holes. The bricks will act as a foundation and guard your tracks from erosion.
- 3). Dig out any tunnels and lay a bed of bricks for the track. Use re-railers inside the tunnel so the train won't derail while going through the tunnel, especially where you can't reach it. Lay a large PVC pipe over the track and cover it with soil.
- 4). Lay down the train track on top of the bricks.
- 5). Seal the train and any buildings you use with a sealant. This will prevent damage from the rain.
- 6). Place buildings around the track. The buildings can be placed anywhere, but make sure they are in places where they won't get stepped on.
- 7). Connect your train and give it a test drive. Add more sections to the train track if you desire.
