- The Bissell ProHeat 2X comes in three parts. It has an upper handle, a lower handle and a tool caddy. In addition to the parts that come with the Bissell ProHeat 2X, assemblers will need a Phillips screwdriver.
- Bissell recommends the following steps for assembly of the Pro Heat 2X:
1. Slide the upper handle into the lower handle.
2. Screw three screws into the holes on the back panel.
3. Put the upper hose rack on the back of the upper handle and screw a tapered screw in to hold it in place.
4. Put the lower hose rack on the back of the upper handle. Push the lower hose rack in and slide it down until it locks in place.
5. Snap the Tough Stain Brush into position at the top right clip at on the back of the cleaner.
6. Place the crevice tool holder onto the right side of the midpoint of the back of the cleaner. Slide the spraying crevice tool into the holder.
7. Place the turbo-brush to the left of the center of the back of the cleaner.
8. Latch the hose in place. - The Bissell Pro Heat offers an option to use heated water when cleaning surfaces. By flicking a switch at the front of the cleaner, users can decide whether to use hot or unheated water. Bissell also sells brush attachments that work to loosen difficult dirt. If the cleaner's power switch is in the on position, the brushes will adjust themselves to different carpet heights. Another switch allows users to select the concentration of Bissell cleaning product to four settings, depending on how dirty the surface is.
The ProHeat can clean floors and some upholstery as well as carpets, and there is a switch to convert between different cleaning modes. - Bissell suggests that users clear the room of furniture and vacuum the entire surface with a conventional vacuum cleaner before using the Pro Heat. The company also recommends using pretreating formula onto a surface and letting it set for three minutes, before using the Pro Heat.
Warnings Bissell provides in its instructions include:
-- Immersing the Pro Heat in liquid
-- Pointing the Pro Heat attachments at humans or animals
-- Modifying the plug or attempting use on a non-grounded outlet or a non-120V outlet
-- Trying to repair the Pro Heat while it is still plugged in
-- Leaving a plugged-in Pro Heat unattended
-- Operating the Pro Heat with a damaged cord or plug
-- Using the Pro Heat outside
-- Handling the Pro Heat with wet hands
-- Letting children use the Pro Heat as a toy
-- Using non-Bissell cleaning products in the machine
-- Pouring boiling or microwaved water into the machine
-- Cleaning upholstery without verifying that it is safe to clean with Bissell products
