Yes; it might sound stupid.
But there are absolutely no reasons to keep wasting money.
I have a theory that most of us waste money by using credit cards, or to buy items to prove that we can afford or buy items friends or neighbors' have.
There is no reason we should be sheep buying what others buy.
It's much better to buy what we need, and not waste our money to prove ourselves better than other.
Another thing we could be careful about is buying all those brands.
There is really no one saying that an item is superior to another just because of its brand.
Of course, some brands also ensure quality; but before you make the buy you should try to think the usage, if you really need the additional quality, or if it is something you will not be using often, but still helping you some.
I guess Apple would be an example of a brand overpricing their products.
I haven't found the IPod, Mac or the IPhone superior to other brands, but still people buy it just because it's cool to have, and give some status to have it.
But does it really give the value of the money? Could you really not find something better, to a lower price? Another place we waste money is when we are shopping.
At least I had a habit to buy items or groceries I never used after getting it, and really had no intention of buying before I left to the place.
The point is; by writing a list of where I could find the cheapest items, and buying smarter I started save a lot of money, money I could now save, or use to pay down credit cards.
There is no shame to buy only what you need, getting away from credit cards and saving money instead of wasting.
I will not start some long speech of how wasting affect the environment etc, as I really don't see any need for such a speech.
