How to Disassemble a Kenmore Front Loader Washer Cabinet

    • 1). Pull the washer away from the wall. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

    • 2). Remove the screws from the rear of the top panel of the washer. Remove the top panel.

    • 3). Pull the detergent dispenser drawer completely out, then press the tab at the back of the drawer and remove the drawer from the washer.

    • 4). Remove the screw found behind the detergent dispenser housing, securing the control panel to the washer.

    • 5). Remove the control panel ribbon connector from the washer's control board, and then depress the tab on the right side of the control board.

    • 6). Open the washer door, and then insert a flat-head screwdriver into the slot below the control panel to release the tab. Push the console up and then remove.

    • 7). Remove the wire-clamp and spring surrounding the boot seal by prying it away from the seal with a flat-head screwdriver or needle-nosed pliers.

    • 8). Peel the boot seal away from the right side of the opening, and then place your hand behind the door jamb, onto the door switch assembly. Remove the three screws securing the door switch assembly, and then pull the assembly out of the washer, through the boot seal.

    • 9). Remove the two screws on the bottom left and right corners of the bottom panel of the washer. Pull the panel toward you and remove.

      Remove the screws at each corner of the upper front panel.

      Pull the front panel away from the washer.
