- 1). Isolate the area that is scratched by putting down masking tape around it.
- 2). Remove all dirt and debris from the vinyl flooring by wiping it down using a damp hand towel.
- 3). Mix the vinyl repair kit paint, slowing integrating more coloring to the paint, until it matches the vinyl flooring color.
- 4). Paint the inside edges of the scratched area using the vinyl repair kit paint. Let the paint sit for about 15 minutes. While you wait, clean up any excess paint that's on the floor.
- 5). Apply the filler powder from the repair kit into the scratch until it is filled. Even out the powder.
- 6). Apply floor bond into the filler powder until it is covered. Let the floor bond sit for about 15 to 20 minutes, as this will give it enough time to harden.
- 7). Apply the clear acrylic finish found in your vinyl repair kit over the area. Do not walk over that spot for about two hours to let the scratch in the vinyl be restored.
