Homemade Stick Fences

    • 1). Dig a trench along the length of the proposed route with your mattock. Make the trench 4 inches wide and 1 foot deep.

    • 2). Stand the sticks in the trench.

    • 3). Bind each stick to the previous one with tie wire. Wrap the two sticks with a double strand of wire and twist the two ends of the wire tightly with your pliers. Snip off the excess wire from each end using the side cutter on the pliers.

    • 4). Push the dirt back into the trench with your foot. Use the flat end of your tamping bar to compact the dirt in the trench and lock the stick fence in place.
