How to Set the HTC Touch Pro2 Stylus to Unlock a Device

    • 1). Get the phone's IMEI number. There are a few ways to accomplish this. Turn on the HTC Touch Pro2 and use the phone's stylus to enter *#06# on the phone's keypad to view the phone's IMEI number. Or turn on the HTC Touch Pro2, use the phone's stylus to tap the Start button, select "Settings," go to the "System" tab, tap "Device Information," and go to the "Identity" tab to view the phone's IMEI number. Or look at the number printed next to "IMEI" on the label located inside the phone's battery compartment. Whichever method you choose, be sure to write down the phone's IMEI number. You'll need it to obtain the phone's unlock code.

    • 2). Find the unlock code for your phone. The unlock code specific to the HTC Touch Pro2 you own is determined by its IMEI number. There are many third-party services which supply mobile phone unlock codes. Some of these services charge a fee, while others are free of charge. You could also try contacting the customer service department of the default network provider for your HTC Touch Pro2 phone. In the U.S., T-Mobile is the network provider for the HTC Touch Pro2 phone. If certain customer requirements are met, T-Mobile will provide you with the unlock code for your phone free of charge.

    • 3). Turn the phone off. Remove the battery cover from the back of the phone. Take out the battery. Remove the current SIM card located inside the HTC Touch Pro2 (if applicable). The SIM card is located inside a sub-compartment within the phone's battery compartment. Insert the new SIM card from the alternate wireless network service provider. Reinsert the phone's battery and put the battery cover back on.

    • 4). Turn the phone on. With the foreign SIM card inserted, the display on the HTC Touch Pro2 will read "Network is locked, please input unlock code."

    • 5). Use the phone's stylus to tap the arrow in the bottom-center of the display to bring up the virtual keyboard. Tap "12#" to display the number pad. Enter the unlock code. Tap "OK." If the proper unlock code was entered successfully, the phone's display should show an Info box that reads "Unlock code accepted." Use the stylus to tap "OK" in the Info box. The device is now unlocked.
