How to Clean & Care for Travertine Floors

    • 1). Mop the floors with a dust mop to remove light dust and dry residue.

    • 2). Mop the floors with a cleaning mop saturated lightly with plain water, and wipe across the travertine.

    • 3). Fill a spray bottle with 2 cups water and 3 squirts dish soap. Twist the lid onto the bottle and shake.

    • 4). Spray the soapy water onto the travertine to remove heavier residue. This works especially well in kitchen areas where foods and sticky substances accumulate on the flooring. Spray a 3-foot-square section at a time.

    • 5). Wipe off the soapy water with a damp cleaning mop soaked in water. This will remove the soapy water, along with any lifted residue. Let the travertine air-dry.
