Miraculous healing ... healing that takes place through prayer or the supernatural, rather than conventional medical treatment administered by physicians or other medical professionals, is called faith healing. Though not universally accepted, some religions have practiced faith healing for generations. Most of them base their beliefs on teachings found throughout the New Testament. - Members of this church practice a form of faith healing that is generally considered contrary to the teachings of the Bible. The General Assembly Church of the First Born was involved in a court case in which the parents of a 13-year-old girl were sentenced to 20 years probation after she died from complications of diabetes.
