- 1). Draw a gently curving line. Make sure to keep this line light since you will erase it later.
- 2). In the middle of your line, draw a small oval that is evenly bisected by the line. Draw a slightly larger oval around your first one to create a loop.
- 3). Make two points on the line that runs through the center of the oval, evenly dividing it into three segments. From the rightmost point, extend a short vertical line downward.
- 4). Draw another point on your curving center line to the right of your oval. Make the distance between the rightmost point in the center of your oval and your new point the same distance as the length of your oval.
- 5). Extend a vertical line downward from the second point. Make this line the same length as your first downward vertical line.
- 6). Connect your two vertical lines with a downward, arching line. This creates a band shape with the curving line as its top.
- 7). Draw a flattened semicircle extending from the right end point of this band to its left end point. Draw a smaller, flattened semicircle in between the first one and the curving line. This completes a flattened ovular shape.
- 8). Mark a point that lies halfway between the end of your first oval and the right interior boundary of your flattened oval shape. Draw an oval just like the first one, using this point as its left end point. Draw a larger oval around this shape just like the first oval.
- 9). Erase in between the larger oval and smaller oval in the first and third oval shapes. Continue making this pattern for the length of your chain link from both sides of your original oval. Alternate oval shapes with the flattened oval shapes to form the link. Erase the curving line from the centers of your oval shapes and darken it in the flattened oval shapes. This completes your chain link.
