Subside the Suffering of a Urinary Tract Yeast Infection

Women get far more urinary tract infections than men.  One reason is because the urethra is shorter in women, increasing the risk of infection.  However, twelve percent of men get a urinary tract infection at some point in their life.

Having to constantly use the restroom can be exhausting.  Depending on the type of work you do, it can be difficult to excuse yourself as frequently as the need arises to use the restroom when afflicted with a urinary tract infection.

Worse, you may be excusing yourself only to find little or no relief in the restroom, only to have the desire to use again a very short time later.

Some urinary tract infections are caused by yeast instead of bacteria.  When yeast is present in urine, it can be difficult to get rid of.  Part of the problem is that some of the most common foods can keep an internal yeast infection going such as breads, sweet foods, and alcohol.

At advanced stages, urinary tract infections can cause fever, queasiness, and back pain.  If it progresses even further, it can cause vomiting and diarrhea.

There are several steps you can take to alleviating a urinary tract infection:

Step 1:  As always, consult a physician before undertaking any type of home remedy.  If you are showing signs of an advanced urinary tract infection, seek medical attention right away.

Step 2:  Take a bath infused with tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar.  It will alleviate the irritation you feel at the source and keep your discomfort at bay.

Keep in mind that long, hot baths are not recommended in general for preventing or curing a urinary tract infection.  Warmth and moisture are ideal conditions for yeast and bacteria to grow.  However a brief, cool, shallow bath infusion can bring welcomed relief.

Step 3:  A personal remedy used is to dilute tea tree oil in mineral oil.  If you do not dilute the tea tree enough, it will cause a severe stinging sensation, so be sure to only use about one drop of tea tree for every ounce of mineral oil to start.

Try the solution.  Then, add one drop each time you use the oil until you sense a tingle on the skin, but not a burning sensation.  Be sure to shake before using so that the tea tree oil distributes into the carrier oil.  Otherwise, the tea tree oil will float and cause a sudden burn.

Place the oil solution on bath tissue and use to wipe the irritated area every time after urinating (or attempting to).  After several hours, you should sense a great deal of relief.  Discontinue if you experience any discomfort from the oil solution.

A urinary tract infection is unbearable, but fortunately, there are ways to alleviate the suffering caused by them.  Over four million people in the United States visit a doctor every year due to the nasty symptoms experienced with this type of infection.
