Excessive sweating in the underarm is a bothersome problem a lot of people have to deal with.
Although this problem doesn't pose a threat on your life, it can become very embarrassing in your day to day life.
Excessive sweating in the underarm area is also known as axillary hyperhidrosis.
There are many different causes of this condition, but there are a few that are more common.
One of the primary cause of this condition is due to genetics.
The odor caused by excessive underarm sweating is due to the presence of bacteria.
Poor hygiene can also be a cause of this sweating problem.
Things such as not taking baths often and not keeping your armpit area clean can create this problem.
Another thing that can cause this problem is your clothing.
Wearing clothes such as nylon, silk, and clothes similar to these material can cause excessive sweating in the underarm.
Regardless of what the cause of your condition may be, there are some effective treatments you can utilize to stop excessive sweating in the underarm.
One such treatment is the use of antiperspirants.
You should look for antiperspirants that contain a chemical known as aluminum chloride hexahydrate, which is highly effective.
If you are dealing with excessive underarm sweating you should not settle for the basic antiperspirant since it won't be that effective.
Instead, you should use one that is high in quality.
Another treatment that can reduce or stop excessive sweating in the underarm is iontophoresis.
The aim of this treatment is to stop the sweat glands from working.
The way it works is by using water to make a light electric current on your skin.
You will need about four sessions of this a week for it to be fully effective.
Another treatment is a surgical one and it is known as thoracis sympathectomy.
This surgical treatment will interrupt the sympathetic nerves responsible for sweating.
It requires a small endoscopic instrument to be inserted right below your underarm to eliminate the small part of the nerve that connects the sweat glands.
Although this treatment is effective it can be risky.
The doctor that performs it will have to deflate your lungs momentarily to see the nerves clearly.
vIf you are not a big fan of the medical treatments or you just don't like the side effects that come along with them, you can use some effective natural treatments.
A very effective natural treatment involves using vinegar.
Take some apple cider vinegar and apply it directly to your underarm area and then leave it on for about 20 minutes.
After the 20 minutes have passed you can then wash it off.
Another natural treatment to stop sweating in the underarm area involves using walnut leaves and eucalyptus.
What you will need to do is grind walnut leaves and eucalyptus and mix them well to produce a paste.
Now take the paste and apply it directly onto the underarm area to reduce the sweating and bad odor.
