Weight Loss & Vitamins - What Do They Actually Do in Our Bodies & Can They Help You Lose More Fat?

Vitamins play a real important role in how healthy you are.
Your body needs a wide range of vitamins & minerals to keep it in the best shape.
Problem is, it can't necessarily make these things on its own and you need to give it the right foods and/or vitamin supplements so that it can get the nutrition that it needs.
If your diet lacks the right nutrition vitamins or you have a general deficiency then you simply won't be as healthy as you could or should be.
Let's take a look at what vitamins actually do for your body.
There are many different vitamins & minerals that your body needs to stay healthy.
You can get most of the vitamins you need, and in the right quantities, by eating the right kinds of foods or by taking vitamin supplements to top you up.
But, what do individual vitamins actually do for your body? How do they help you stay fit and healthy? Let's consider the main vitamin groups.
  • Vitamin A -- A vitamins help maintain healthy eyesight and also help promote healthy skin.
  • Vitamin B - B vitamins help with the creation of red blood cells and they also help your body create enough energy to keep you going.
  • Vitamin C -- C vitamins are mainly used to help keep your tissues healthy.
    They also help your immune system work correctly and your body to heal when you have an injury.
  • Vitamin D -- D vitamins promote healthy bones and teeth.
    They also assist your body in absorbing calcium.
  • Vitamin E -- E vitamins are also useful from a tissue point of view and can help keep your lungs healthy.
    And, they also help with the creation of red blood cells.
  • Vitamin K -- K vitamins help your blood to clot.
    So, if you cut yourself your blood will clot together to stop the bleeding.
    Kind of essential really!
Eating a healthy and balanced diet really is the way to go when it comes to your basic vitamins & minerals intake.
Healthy foods are termed "healthy" simply because they contain the right mix of nutrients to help you and your body out.
The primary foods that are rich in the vitamins you need include:
  • Vitamin A -- green leafy vegetables like spinach, or fruits and vegetables that are orange colored like carrots, cantaloupes...
    and liver.
  • Vitamin B -- fish and seafood, eggs, grains, poultry/meat, dairy foods and once again...
    green leafy vegetables.
  • Vitamin C -- citrus fruits, tomatoes, broccoli, cantaloupes and cabbage.
  • Vitamin D -- fortified cereal, fish, liver and egg yolks.
  • Vitamin E -- grains, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds and egg yolks.
  • Vitamin K -- green leafy vegetables, dairy products and broccoli.
Seems like the "green leafy vegetables" win the overall award when it comes to vitamins.
I wonder if that has anything to do with why they come so highly recommended as part of a healthy diet? As you can see incorporating foods that are rich in the necessary vitamins & minerals needn't be hard.
And, as an added bonus the more of an incentive you give your body to keep in great shape, the better you'll feel!
