Management analysts employed by computer services firms and management consulting firms earned the highest salaries. BLS data indicated that analysts in computer services earned an average salary of about $91,000 a year, while analysts in management consulting firms had salaries averaging more than $97,000 a year.
- Market researchers specialize in understanding what consumers want, which helps companies market and sell their products and services. Market research analysts study consumer preferences, company methods of marketing and distribution and competitors' products. They also analyze data on past sales to project future sales. The BLS reported in 2009 that market researchers' salaries averaged $67,500 a year.
- BLS reports that the best opportunities and salaries for different types of business analysis jobs exist for men and women with master's and doctoral degrees. In addition, business analysts should have excellent mathematical, statistical and computer skills. The Business Analyst Crossing website indicates that analyst jobs exist in many corporate and industrial sectors, including engineering, information technology, health care and media.
