I was recently approached to contribute my articles to a health related organization right here in Florida.
I was quite flattered that they contacted me while trying to find 'experts' for their site, but I had to make sure they understood one thing: I am not, nor have I ever been in the medical or professional field related to health care.
I am simply a baby boomer that has made the realization that prevention of diseases through nutrition, not pushing pills, is a better way of life.
As many of you know from my previous articles, I am of the opinion that pharmaceutical companies are only in the business to make money.
I also believe that this earth was created to sustain life - without chemicals.
Our bodies were made to fight its own infections - they call it an immune system.
But now, man has created an environment that is not conducive to our health, and we are paying the consequences.
Emory University recently conducted a study that found about twice as many Americans over age 50 are diagnosed with heart disease, arthritis and cancer as their European peers.
While I do believe that it is important to be able to get the best health care possible, I also now believe that more time, energy and money should be spent in preserving our health.
In other words, we should put health before health care and make prevention a priority! I am saying that we need to start paying attention to what we are consuming, what we are breathing, and what chemicals we use in our homes to make our lives easier.
I also believe that the nutrient value of our soils are being depleted due to chemical additives in our food sources, and that people should start to pay attention to what your body needs to fight its own infections.
Your body simply must have all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients to sustain and healthy defense system.
We have the opportunity now to reduce premature deaths and illnesses simply by opening our minds back to Mother Nature.
