- 1). Scrape the concrete surface with a flat shovel to loosen the surface debris. Power wash the deck to remove all debris. Allow the concrete to dry for a few hours and sweep up the remaining debris.
- 2). Apply a thin coat of bonding adhesive to the concrete with a paint roller. This will allow the new surface of the concrete to adhere to the old surface.
- 3). Mix the dry concrete with water according to the bag's instructions. For this application, a normal wetness is the desirable consistency. Spread the concrete over the top of the old surface. Use your trowel to smooth it out as best you can. Because it is a pool deck, you do not want the surface to be too smooth because people could slip. Therefore, do not wet your trowel when spreading the concrete because it will result in a much slicker finish.
- 4). Allow the concrete to dry for 15-24 hours before you walk on it again. All of those tiny surface cracks and divots will now be gone.
