- 1). Add the beans and 1 qt. water to a stockpot.
- 2). Cover the pot to soak the beans at room temperature for 12 hours.
- 3). Drain and rinse the yellow fava beans in a colander and return to the stockpot.
- 4). Add the remaining 2 quarts of water to the stockpot and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- 5). Reduce the heat to medium so the bean mixture simmers.
- 6). Cover the pot and cook for 40 to 60 minutes or until the beans reach the desired texture.
