- 1). Measure your height in inches with the measuring tape. Write this figure down. Measure your weight in pounds, using the bathroom scale. Write this down as well.
- 2). Square your height in inches. For example, if you are 70 inches tall, multiply 70 by 70. Write this figure down.
- 3). Divide your weight in pounds by the square-inch figure. Multiply that number by 703. This is your BMI number.
- 4). Multiply your BMI by 1.2, and write this figure down. Multiply your age by 0.23, and add it to the first figure.
- 5). Subtract 5.4 from this number if you are a woman and 16.2 if you are man. This is your body fat percentage.
