- 1). Purchase rope from a home improvement store such as Lowe's or Home Depot. Rope can be purchased in various types and thicknesses.
- 2). Measure the cabinet to determine the amount of rope you will need. If you are going add multiple pieces of rope measure each area of the cabinet separately.
- 3). Measure the amount of rope you will need and then add about 2 inches. Use a utility knife to cut the rope to length.
- 4). Bind the end of the cut piece of rope with a glue gun. Binding will prevent the rope from unraveling and causing headaches.
- 5). Start at the bottom edge of the cabinet and secure one end of the rope with a finish nail. Place a finish nail about every 6 to 10 inches around the cabinet.
- 6). Cut the rope to fit when you reach your starting point. Use the glue gun to bind the end of the rope and then secure it with a finish nail.
