Cha Cha Review

"The Facebook Phone" which is known as the HTC ChaCha is a newly brough out intelligent mobile by the Taiwanese mobile business HTC. While that may lead you to believe this phone is in some way associated with Facebook, similar to the Google phone that was released a couple of years ago, it is unfortunately not. It is, however endorsed by the director of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg due to the revolutionary "Facebook Button" which makes it without fuss and easy to update your own facebook page at the press of a button. This new button coupled with the fantastic QWERTY keyboard and touch screen make this mobile very popular with the teenage kids who frequent the social network and up until now have used Blackberry phones, hence why this HTC has a Blackberry type keyboard.

This attack on a large part of Blackberry's business is a fantastic move, with Blackberry's operating system behind the big boys and Android being the best OS, HTC have made a great business decision to try and tempt kids onto their phones while increasing their ever growing business in the UK and europe. All this business planning and accumen would mean nothing if the phone wasnt very good, thankfully it does and in this review we'll show you why.

Firstly the HTC ChaCha is a mid range phone, so it is not here to compete with the big dogs of the smartphone universe, it is here to offer a lower priced option while still having enough hardware and usability to make it a nice option. Let's start with the specs of the mobile; it has a very reasonable 800 MHz CPU processing speed, 512 MB of storage, 5 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash, VGA front camera, Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery with roughly 400 minutes of talk time and up to 640 hours standby time. Not bad considering the phone is completely free on a low 18 a month contract.

So the specs appear nice and the price point of the mobile is sure to attract a lot of interest but how cool is the phone to use? Well if you love networking online and getting to know friends via facebook or via online messenger/text messaging then the phone really is a blast to use! Thanks to the very nice QWERTY keyboard, which I like to keyboards on the range of Blackberry phones, it really is happy to look at Facebook and chat to my friends, add the touch screen is great when browsing normal websites.

Having a good time online and interacting via social sites and social networks really is what this phone is all about; an all in one device that is intuitive, easy to use and very easy to type messages to your friends via social sites, Twitter or any other social media for that matter and that special "Facebook Button" makes it even easier to upload and share chat with your mates. Uploading pictures is simple, just set up the ChaCha with your online site and any time you want to share a pic to your profile, on your wall, or on your friends page you simply locate the pic on your phone and push the button. Your mobile will do the rest, no fussing with and no hassle - just seamless and intuitive. This works good for other tasks, for example when you listen to music you can push the button and the artist and track will appear on your facebook page, you can even integrate other social media such as Twitter and use the "Facebook Button" to easily post tweets.

All in all if you are hooked, like many people, to Facebook and want to share your life with your online friends then the HTC ChaCha is a phone that you will use a lot and happiness out of and at such a low cost it is a great opportunity to get a top class smart phone. While I think this mobile is right up the street for users of Facebook, if, like me you don't enjoy the social network often then, it is clear to say your yen is better spent elsewhere.
