- The American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education administers the annual Nellie Wakeman Scholarship for pharmacy students. Awarded in conjunction with Kappa Epsilon fraternity, this award goes to students in their final year of a pharmacy baccalaureate or Pharm.D. program. Since the scholarship intends to help further the recipient's education, the student must have plans to earn an advanced degree, like a Ph.D. or master's degree. The scholarship committee prefers pharmacy students with a demonstrated financial need.
- The American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education, AFPE, also oversees a pre-doctoral fellowship program, which assists students earning graduate degrees in pharmaceutical sciences. Students who have completed at least three semesters of graduate study are eligible for this award. Students should be majoring in a pharmacy-related field like clinical pharmaceutical science, pharmaceutics or pharmacology/toxicology. Four new awards of $11,000 are available every year, as of 2011. Students can renew the award for one more year if they are still pursuing their pharmaceutical degree.
- The National Association of Chain Drug Stores Foundation administers a pharmacy student scholarship program. In past years, the foundation has awarded up to 85 $2,000 scholarships as well as additional scholarships in amounts of $2,500, $3,000 and $5,000. Students should be enrolled in a Pharm.D. program and have one year of pharmacy school under their belts. In addition, students must have a "C" grade point average as well as experience in community pharmacy practice to apply.
- The Student National Pharmaceutical Association distributes the NPhA Foundation Scholarship every year. Applicants have to be a member of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association for at least one year. Students in accredited pharmacy programs are eligible, and they must submit a resume and letters of recommendation along with their application. The scholarship is worth $1,000, as of 2011, and award winners must be at the NPhA national convention's opening session to accept their award.
