- 1). Clean the old coffee cans and remove the labels.
- 2). Cut sections of metal pipe that are two to three inches taller than the coffee can. The metal pipe needs to be three to four inches in diameter or big enough to house the signpost.
- 3). Mix the cement in a metal vessel, such as a metal wheelbarrow. Use a trowel to incorporate the cement mix and water together; follow instructions on the bag for water measurements.
- 4). Stand a section of metal pipe in the center of the coffee can and have a second person carefully pour the cement mixture around the pipe, filling to the top of the can. The pipe should be left hollow, so be careful not to fill it with cement.
- 5). Store the can in a dry place for about 24 hours while the cement dries and hardens.
- 6). Slide your parking sign post into the metal pipe in the coffee can. Place the sign where you want it to be.
