Lean and Muscular - Strategies to Get That Ripped Body

So you want to look like a lean, mean, muscle bulging machine.
Six pack abs, strong arms, and the ability to take your shirt off in public and have the ladies' jaws drop.
Lots of people tell you how to do this but the research shows there are a few things you need to do to get there.
First of all, eat right.
Google "BMR Calculator.
" BMR means basil metabolic rate.
These are the calories you need to just lay in bed and maintain your current weight.
Add calories for your physical activity and that is what you need to maintain what you are now.
One pound of fat is 3500 calories.
It has been shown that losing 2 pounds a week is a safer bet for keeping the weight off.
Why? Gradual weight loss is usually the outcome of a lifestyle change and those stick around a lot longer than fad diets.
So combine the amount of calories you burn with some dietary restriction to equal about 7000 calories a week and you should be fine.
But if you are like me, I don't like restriction like that.
So here are some things I have done to lose weight.
Eat more veggies (people don't get fat from veggies), cut out all soda (even diet), eat slowly so your body can tell you when you are full, indulge once in a while but account for it later, and drink a ton of water.
All of these thing are really good at making your appetite slowly go down.
Second, do short but very intense exercise.
Recent research has shown that prolonged exercise actually increases appetite.
That is not a good thing.
Shorter, more intense exercise, such as spinning, interval training, and heavy weight lifting tend to kick start your body and get that fat burning.
Third, sleep enough.
If you don't get enough sleep or rest between workouts, your body will do bad things that will sabotage your getting ripped efforts.
Sleep repairs the damage we have done to our bodies.
Don't forgo it or all your effort will be wasted.
Finally, get some emotion support.
I am the kind of person who needs to let people know what my goals are so when I am starring at the Alfred pasta, I think of how many people told me I was going to lose weight.
You need to figure out what motivates you and make sure you use that to your advantage.
Is it people, a food log, friends, a swimsuit, or a picture of yourself you hate? Find motivation.
This is going to take some work and time and you need something to get you started and keep you going.
Find something that is stronger than the biggest desire you have to NOT do this.
